Evaluation question 3: What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Andy gave very posotive feedback after watching the documentary saying he like the images popping up after the vox pops and the shoes popping up after Betty says 'shoes shoes shoes'. From this I learnt that some of the more strange techniques we used such as stop motion and having the images pop up when people say them work well and perhaps in the future I should develop conventions some more like i did with these examples.
Andy also gives positive feedback about the radio advert as well saying he likes the vox pops and the music. From this i learnt that choosing music for a radio advert is very important and it can completely affect the people's opinions on something. With the upbeat and catchy tune that we used it made our documentary seem a bit more exciting so it's definitely the sort of music to choose for a documentary you want to give of that sort of feeling with.
He also reacted poitively to our print advert saying he liked the way we'd set it out. From this I learned that colourful images really catch peoples eyes on a poster and that having all of this stuff piled up was a good way to represent obsession.
Facebook response
I didn't recieve much feedback from Facebook and i didn't really learn much from what i did. It seemed like they liked the documentary calling it professional but didn't give any reason why or any points for improvement.
In conclusion i don't think the audience feedback was that helpful because most of it was positive. I know we need to improve our sound quality and maybe rethink our narrator but I could have done with more negative points so I would know what to do better next time. So overall i don't think the audience feedback was that important or helpful.
Evaluation question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Proffesional print advert

Our Print advert.
Like the professional print advert we have the Channel 4 logo on the right hand side. They both have the title, strapline and date & time in big plain letter which are bannered. Both have a large central image of a person however our background is plain whilst the professional poster has a flag in the background. Other than the central image the professional poster doesn't have anything also however our poster is full of varied items. This is because we thought the best way to represent Obsession visually was a big pile of items because people can be obsessed over anything.
Evaluation question 1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms of conventions of real media products?
The above clip is the beginning of 'The Devil made me do it' a professional documentary. The documentary opens with a montage of images of fans and Marilyn Manson gigs etc with music behind it and Manson talking over it. This is very similar to the approach we did after our title sequence. I felt like it was a good way to get the audience hooked at the beginning of the documentary. Both have many flashing images showing the sort of things that will be in the documentary and upbeat music as well as a voiceover however 'The Devil Made Me Do It' goes for more menacing feel whilst ours is more light hearted however this is more down to the content of the documentary and is mostly affected by the music and the images as they are much more violent in 'The Devil Made Me Do It'. Both documentaries also use cutaways in the same way.
A big difference between the two is 'The Devil Made Me Do It' is telling a story whilst our documentary asks questions and explains different factors of obsession.
